Summary Description: To use remote sensing technologies and unmanned vehicles to gather information for surveying, mapping, videography, and photographic/photogrammetric purposes. The ideal candidate would hold a FAA Part 107 license and a minimum of 5 years’ experience, have a knowledge of computers and electronics, have previous R/C aircraft or drone piloting skills for LiDAR and Photogrammetry, and have a TWIC (transportation working identification card) or the ability to pass a federal background check to get one.            

General Responsibilities:

• Assisting in job information and equipment preparation
• Traveling to various work sites
• Managing and training visual observers as needed
• Operating and monitoring sensor payloads
• Managing Equipment
• Using various software for flight planning and data management
• Maintaining systems compliance with FAA, State and Local UAS operations and regulations
• Occasionally required to enter secure facilities such as refineries, plants, or maritime areas
• Ensure integrity and quality of systems, data and collection processes

Required Education:

• Hold a FAA Part 107 license
• Knowledge of computers and electronics
• Have a TWIC (transportation worker identification credential) card or the ability to pass a federal background check to obtain one
• Specialized training in various software used in the collection of Geospatial data
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred

Required Experience:

• Familiarity with DJI M600 and Riegl VUX1 systems
• Functional knowledge of AutoCad, Terrasolid, Inertial Explorer and Pix4d
• Experience with LiDAR and Image data collection / processing techniques
• Organized and attentive to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Sit for extended periods of time working on the computer
• Driving to and from various outside locations
• Ability to lift 75lbs
• Work outside in different weather conditions (except rain) for 8-12 hours a day
• Ability to travel on short notice (<48 hours)
