UAS Pilot / Simulation Pilot:

ATEC is looking for Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Pilots to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Simulation pilot support services contract which include controller and human-in-the-loop (HITL) simulation operations at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center Target Generation Facility (TGF) and/or Cockpit Simulation Facility (CSF).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • The primary function of UAS Pilot simulation support services includes interacting with ATC, responding to the ATC clearances issued by the controllers, and controlling the movements of the simulated aircraft.
  • Simulation Pilot support can be called upon to operate Simulation Branch related simulations using Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) ground stations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and/or military drone pilot training. If specific experience can be shown (such as military drone pilots), the certificate requirement may be waived.

EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • UAS - Entry Level requires upto five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • UAS - Mid Level requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • UAS - Senior Level requires a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation
  • Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:

  • Reporting onsite to the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, NJ
  • Part-Time, approximately 5-20 hours per week

PAY RANGE:

  • Contingent upon number of years of experience
