GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The project surveyor/drone operator with Drone Pilot's License is responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of GPS technology and drone operations in construction projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate surveying, mapping, and data collection to support the successful execution of construction and industrial services projects. The project surveyor/drone operator with Drone Pilot's License must possess a strong knowledge of GPS technology, drone operations, and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and coordinate GPS surveying and mapping activities on construction sites.
  • Manage the operation of drones for aerial surveys, inspections, and data collection.
  • Ensure the accurate setup and calibration of GPS equipment and drones.
  • Conduct quality control checks on GPS data and drone-collected data.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and surveyors to analyze and interpret survey data.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot GPS equipment and drones.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines for GPS and drone operations.
  • Your role involves collecting data for construction layout, topographic, boundary, right-of-way, and control survey projects, ensuring work meets company standards and results are presented clearly
  • Set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment to gather field survey data through the use of a total station, data collector, GPS equipment, LiDAR scanners and drones
  • Prepare field notes and sketches
  • Perform field surveying for  survey construction stake out, locating or establishing vertical and horizontal control for right of ways and boundaries and level runs to establish benchmarks
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a surveyor or in the construction industry
  • Team oriented
  • Elevation experience
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and MVR check
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with good time management and ability to work outdoors and walk as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
