Position Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Photographer/Videographer with a passion for the hunting and shooting sports industry to join our in-house creative team. This role will be based primarily at a Savage Arms facility and includes approximately 25% travel to capture content in the field.
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio showcasing both photography and videography skills, with a keen eye for detail, lighting, and composition. This role requires technical expertise, creative storytelling ability, and an understanding of the unique visual aesthetics associated with outdoor, hunting and tactical gear.
What You’ll Do
- Capture high-quality product and lifestyle photography in a studio and/or on-location setting, ensuring consistency in lighting, composition, and branding.
- Plan, shoot, and edit engaging video content for new product launches, sales materials, and social media campaigns.
- Collaborate with marketing, design, and product teams to create visually compelling assets that align with the brand identity.
- Maintain and manage studio equipment, lighting, and camera gear to ensure optimal performance.
- Direct talent during shoots to achieve desired visual storytelling.
- Edit and retouch images and video footage using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Keep photography and videos up to date on shared marketing drive and website.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging visual styles, and advancements in photography/videography technology.
- Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
What You Bring:
- 5-8 years of professional experience in studio photography, in-field photography and videography in multiple settings.
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in product photography, lifestyle imagery, and cinematic video production.
- Deep understanding of the hunting and shooting sports industry, including knowledge of firearms, optics, gear, and outdoor aesthetics.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Experience with professional studio lighting, camera setups, and video production equipment.
- Ability to direct on-set talent and manage complex studio shoots efficiently.
- Willingness to spend days in the field, often in remote settings.
- Strong storytelling skills with an eye for composition, color, and detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with firearms, hunting, or outdoor brands.
- Background in motion graphics, 3D animation, or drone cinematography is a plus.
- Familiarity with social media content creation and digital marketing trends.
