Photographer and Videographer

The Photographer and Videographer at Rosebel Gold Mines are responsible for planning, creating, coordinating, executing, and editing photo and video shoots for various initiatives and projects, catering to both internal and external stakeholders and produce visuals and videos that are in line with the Zijin Mining/Rosebel marketing strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Planning

• Plan and execute shoots, including scouting locations, setting up lighting and equipment, and coordinating with subjects or models to achieve desired outcomes.

• Prepare scripts for video shoots and voiceovers.

• Development of a storyboard prior to shoots to ensure shoots are well planned out.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project goals, develop concepts, and create storyboards or shot lists to guide production.

Video, photo and audio capture

• Capture high-quality photographs and videos for various events, initiatives, or promotional purposes, ensuring lighting, composition, and subject matter meet stakeholder or project specifications.

• Provide input on creative direction and participate in brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects, contributing innovative ideas for visual storytelling.

• Support the Zijin Mining/ Rosebel Brand objectives through a visual representation.

• Adhere to Zijin Mining corporates style guides to ensure photograph and video alignment and consistency.

• Manage and maintain all photography and videography equipment, ensuring gear is in working order and up to date, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio equipment.

• Conduct aerial photography and videography using drones or other equipment, adhering to mine site safety regulations, to capture unique perspectives and enhance visual content.

• Ensuring the capture of clear, high-quality sounds.

• Ensure props, scene staging, background and other branding material is available and prepared.

Post Shoot Editing

• Able to guide subjects or models during a shoot to capture moments.

• Ensure shoots are comfortable for subjects and models.

• Implementing and manage a photoshoot booking system for internal and external stakeholders.

• Edit and process images and footage using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, including color correction, retouching, and adding effects and transitions.

• Skillful blending of dialogue, music, and sound effects in the editing process to enhances visual storytelling.

• Archive digital files and manage a database of images and footage, ensuring easy access and organization for use.

• Maintain and update a digital catalogue and profile of Rosebel Gold Mines’ different departments.

The ideal candidate will have:

• High-school graduation (MBO/VWO/HAVO) with related post-secondary training.

• Drone pilot training will be advantageous

• Minimum of 3-years studio photography and video experience

• Experience in video color grading

• Minimum of 1-year color correction and retouching experience

• Photo and photo/video editing experience is essential

• Knowledge of scene staging and lighting for photoshoots and video shoots, including various background, prop, and lifestyle/action settings

• Proficiency in using DSLR, Mirrorless and smartphone cameras

• Proficiency in photo/video editing software, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After effects, Cap Cut and Bridge

• Experience with image/video file prep and asset management

• Experience working with RAW / PSD / TIFF / J-PEG/MP4/MOV/AI formats

• Knowledge of mainstream trends on Tick tock, Facebook, Instagram etc.

• Keep up to date with the latest photography and videography trends.

• The ability to cut, splice, and blend video clips with seamless transitions is essential.

• Bilingual in Dutch /English (spoken and written).

• Video production ( Shooting, directing and producing video content)

• Visual storytelling to convey messages and objective through visual media.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English, Mandarin language is an asset.

• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 5 days on the mine site in Brokopondo followed by 2 days break.
