NDT Technician and Advanced RPAS Operator


APAVE IRISNDT Corp. has an immediate, full-time position available for a NDT technician within our advanced inspection department. We are looking for an individual with experience as an NDT Technicians who has a TC Advanced RPAS pilot certificate. Prior expertise in performing remotely piloted aircraft inspections is required. The technician will have strong mechanical aptitude, leveraging this with cutting edge remote inspection techniques. This position would be based out of our Edmonton office (5311 86 Street NW, Edmonton, T6E 5T8), with travel throughout Canada (mainly Alberta) as required.

Job Duties:

 

  • Utilize remotely piloted aircraft systems to perform internal and external drone inspections at customer’s sites. 
  • Utilize remote equipment to support various inspections including underwater ROV and robotic crawler systems for various inspections.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to Canadian Aviation Regulations in the operations of RPAS.
  • Deploy customized remote inspection techniques based on available equipment.
  • Support other departments in assisting crews with performing NDT.  

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

  • Must have valid Advanced RPAS Certificate.
  • Must have valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Must have strong understanding of safety, hazard identification, and risk management in aviation.
  • Experience performing drone inspections in an industrial setting is required.
  • Any NDT experience would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health benefits will be provided after a 3-month probationary period. Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory.
