Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support the administration of the Survey work request program and the UAS mission request program. You will calibrate Survey instruments, review computations, prepare drawings when needed, and provide technical support. Your work will ensure the accurate layout of construction work, data accuracy, and efficiency of survey/drone activities. 
 

Major Responsibilities:

The UAVP / CAD TECH responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with the survey team's implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
Assist the PSM or ALS by providing support to other Office Surveyors
Support the implementation and administration of the Survey Work Request program
Support the implementation and administration of the UAV Mission Request program
Ensure that survey office calculations activity execution supports construction schedule
Develop and maintain survey data
Review and approve survey data from field crews and ensure survey documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
Provide office technical support to the survey team including processing of survey data and preparation of deliverables utilizing survey industry best practices
Support with the Verification of the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary control points
Identifying the location of underground services and maintaining a drawing with as-built underground installations to support excavation permitting process
Prepare survey CAD drawings as required in the performance of duties, including generation of Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and volumes computations
Provide Civil project completion data and documentation including "As-Built" records
Plan and execute the projects UAV/Drone program: responsible for the overall quality and integrity of the project's UAV program
Pilot the UAV and supervise other pilots
Submit the photogrammetric images/data captured from the flights for processing: check and confirm the quality of the UAV flight deliverables prior to submitting to the project


Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

 Experience in drawing office data registers and repositories. 
Experience of working within a 3D digital design environment including a detailed working knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit and AutoCAD modelling software.
Be familiar with developing designs in project models using appropriate families, systems, etc. 
Have experience in the validation of as-built information against Client Requirements. 
Knowledge of using the BIM 360 Collaboration solution is a plus
Experience in production of architectural and engineering designs and drawings.

Additional Information: Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
