Armed Field Supervisor – Drone Operator
Location: Greater Bay Area (In-person)
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
Availability: Open availability required

 

About the Role

Diligence Security Group is seeking a highly skilled and responsible Armed Field Supervisor – Drone Operator to lead our team of security officers and support operations using drone surveillance technology. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines field supervision with cutting-edge drone operations to enhance situational awareness and maintain safety standards across multiple client sites.

As a key member of our team, you will manage daily field operations, provide on-site guidance, conduct inspections, respond to incidents, and execute FAA-compliant drone flights for aerial support and patrol.

Key Responsibilities

 

Field Supervision & Patrol

  • Serve as an armed, uniformed officer and legally carry a firearm in assigned areas
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols; respond to security incidents and alarms
  • Oversee multiple site operations to ensure compliance with post orders and DSG protocols
  • Monitor officer performance, conduct field inspections, and enforce accountability
  • Act as a mobile point of contact for field staff and clients
  • Document activities and observations in Daily Inspection Reports (DIR)
     

 

Drone Operations & Aerial Surveillance

  • Operate drones for perimeter checks, aerial patrols, and remote surveillance
  • Conduct scheduled or reactive flights to assess threats and monitor sites
  • Ensure FAA compliance, maintain drone readiness, and archive aerial footage
  • Use aerial intelligence to support officers and respond to incidents
  • Collaborate with management on integrating drone strategies into field operations
     

 

Supervisory Leadership

  • Make real-time operational decisions and ensure site coverage
  • Manage officer schedules, attendance, and performance
  • Conduct field training, mentorship, and evaluations
  • Perform risk assessments and support site safety planning
  • Foster a productive, respectful team culture in the field
     

 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

 

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of armed security experience (Required)
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience (Required)
  • Prior drone operation experience (FAA Part 107 preferred or willing to obtain)
  • High school diploma or GED (Required)
  • Degree in Criminal Justice or related field (Preferred)
  • Military or law enforcement background (Preferred)
     

 

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid BSIS Guard Card (Required)
  • Valid BSIS Firearms Permit (Required)
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record (Required)
  • Must own firearm and vest
  • Baton, Taser, and Pepper/OC Spray Certifications (Required)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (Required)
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (Required or must be obtained within 90 days)
  • Must maintain FAA registration and Remote ID compliance at all times
