Job Summary/Description:
Video Journalist – News Videographer
WVVA, a Gray Local Media station in Bluefield, WV, is looking for a Video Journalist/Videographer! This rare opportunity does not come around often! We are looking for a creative, competitive, motivated visual storyteller to join our award-winning news team! We are looking for a high-energy video journalist with a positive attitude who has experience shooting and editing news stories, conducting interviews, and coordinating live shots with multimedia journalists. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable with video and editing equipment and have a creative vision for storytelling. We report news on every platform, so you must also be able to utilize social media to serve our audiences.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Shoot and edit compelling, high-quality video for daily news stories and live broadcasts.
• Must be able to utilize all social media platforms.
• Must have strong communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Set up and operate broadcast video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
• Must be able to work under exceptionally tight deadlines on a routine basis.
• Maintain assigned equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Proficiently operate a drone when needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience as a television video journalist/videographer preferred.
• CFR 14 Part 107 sUAS Drone certification preferred.
• Proficiency in shooting with ENG cameras and strong linear editing skills.
• Proficiency in the use of Live U devices.
• Flexible work schedule required, must be willing to work a variety of shifts as well as holidays.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle records check.
