Videographer
This is a full time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled work environment.
The Videographer will create, produce, and edit compelling video content that reflects HPUMC’s mission, values, and brand. This role will help tell the stories of our church community through sermon content, worship experiences, ministry initiatives, special events, and member stories.
The ideal candidate is a skilled filmmaker with a passion for storytelling, a strong eye for visual detail, and the ability to translate ideas into engaging video experiences. They bring creativity, initiative, organization, and collaboration to every project while helping connect people to the mission and ministry of HPUMC.

Working Hours: This is a full-time position working at least 36 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am – 5 pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch); Friday, 8 am – 12 pm. Evenings and weekends as needed.
During certain times of the year additional hours and days may be necessary to meet the job's demands. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Proactively seek ways to improve the quality of videos for HPUMC.
- Responsible for meeting all video pre-production, shoot, and post-production timelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Videographer, Director of Communications as well as the creative team, internal ministries, and stakeholders to produce the most effective video content.
- Work closely with the Director of Communications,, Senior Videographer and the creative team to develop and implement video solutions.
- Record and edit video and sound projects, including capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, inserting graphics and titles, adding music/voice-over.
- Juggle various projects and handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency-style environment.
- Stay abreast of the latest tools and software to produce the best work possible.
- Ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned projects,
- Manage the upkeep and storage of all video equipment/assets.
- Capture footage/stills at special events and other assignments as needed.
- Manage video library/archival system for videos.
- Ensure all products align with the goals, mission, and brand standards of HPUMC.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in film, video production, communications, media production, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience producing professional video content from concept through completion.
- Strong portfolio/reel demonstrating storytelling ability, technical proficiency, and production quality.
- Proficiency with cameras, lighting, audio capture, and post-production workflows.
- Experience with interviewing techniques, documentary-style storytelling, green screen production, and studio lighting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of video editing, motion graphics, sound design, and color correction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, ministry leaders, and church members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a creative team environment.
- Motion graphics/animation experience preferred.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License for drone footage preferred.
Preferred Software Experience:
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Workspace
- Asana or other project management platforms
Physical Demands:
- Sitting, Standing, Walking, Seeing, Hearing, Speaking, Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, Fine Motor Skills
Other Qualifications: Must be a committed Christian, with a church home, who is comfortable working in a United Methodist Church and willing to spend occasional Sundays onsite in order to understand HPUMC firsthand.
