Position Summary
Serves as the lead on video, audio, and photography content in matters of marketing and communication. Responsible for creating and promoting a strong and unified institutional image through video, utilizing motion graphics, audio, and photography that presents the stature and achievements of the university to its key audience within brand guidelines. Designs, shoots, and produces videos and photography for traditional and digital advertising for recruitment, public relations, advancement, and internal communication that support the university in achieving its major initiatives and goals. Works closely with marketing and communications staff and collaborates with members of the university in planning and producing these projects. Provides video, audio, and photography expertise to the marketing and communications team, including pitching creative ideas. Supports and trains university staff and community on the use of the brand. On-campus attendance required. With potential for intermittent hybrid work-from-home days.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Videographer, photographer, and editor for projects. Plans, produces, and directs university video filming and photography sessions, including audio/visual support for the university, particularly in support of major and presidential events such as commencement, galas, graduation, etc. Motion graphic designer and photo editor of produced content working closely with Sr. Brand Manager and Graphic Designer Films university b-roll, including flying a drone for aerial footage. Evaluates creative options and determines best visual approach for various university videos and photography to strengthen and support the key message and present the content in a positive, professional, and consistent manner in line with brand values. Works in collaboration with Marketing & Communications team to develop television, digital, and social media commercials. Works in collaboration with Marketing & Communications team to develop social media video content – such as Instagram Reels, TikTok videos and YouTube shorts Uses cutting-edge industry standards and provides creative vision and best practices for video and photography techniques. Maintains effective operation of video office. Arranges for shooting schedules and manages the daily operations and procedures of the video/photography services. Meets with supervisors and project personnel to develop goal planning for the video office. Conducts equipment research. Maintains budget and handles billing for video/audio/photography accounts. Contacts and schedules location sites and talent. Obtains releases as necessary. Work with contracted video firms. Manages Video/Television/Multimedia Production. Supervises and directs other contract videographers, photographers, and editors as required. Plans meetings on individual phases of all projects. Pre-editing and shot log of footage. Works with client to meet final product expectations. Assists web designer to enhance the web with video. Works with project manager to coordinate A/V for events. May entail supervising IT Media Specialist(s) as directed. Establishes & maintains video and photo library by classifying and cataloging items according to contents and purpose and maintaining records of items received, stored, issued & returned. Supports and supplements web design and web production with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Apple Final Cut Pro X. Consults with Director of Communication Strategy and Public Relations and Director of Marketing Strategy to identify major priorities. Supervises student employees and supervises them with projects.
