Job Overview:
Paladin Drones is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented UAS Flight Operator to join our team in Monroe, NC. As a Drone Operator, you will be responsible for piloting unmanned aerial vehicles for the local police department, ensuring safe and efficient operations while adhering to all FAA regulations and company protocols. The ideal pilot will communicate effectively with the police department to help clear any inbound calls from the community. As a crucial team member, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Paladin's proprietary drones are always ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drones for emergency response, surveillance, and data collection missions.
- Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to ensure optimal drone performance.
- Monitor weather conditions and airspace restrictions before deploying drones.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair drone equipment as needed.
- Follow FAA Part 107 regulations and other relevant aviation guidelines.
Coordinate with emergency response teams and dispatch personnel to provide aerial support. - Analyze and report mission data, including video and image processing.
- Stay up to date with advancements in drone technology and industry regulations.
- Inventory Management: Maintain a sufficient inventory of Paladin's proprietary equipment, ensuring they are prepared for deployment at all times.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct remote product demonstrations that effectively highlight the distinctive advantages of Paladin's technology to potential clients.
- Technical Expertise: Acquire an in-depth understanding of our technology to confidently address real-time inquiries regarding the functionality of our products.
- Adaptability: Embrace the versatile and dynamic nature of startup environments, where wearing multiple hats is essential for success.
Qualifications:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required).
- Experience operating UAVs in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding of drone flight systems, navigation, and maintenance.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments, especially in emergency response situations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in emergency response, law enforcement, or public safety.
- Familiarity with DJI Enterprise-level drones (e.g., Matrice 300, Matrice 350, Matrice 30T, Matrice 3TD).
- Experience working with DJI docking stations or similar autonomous drone systems.
- Proven experience as a UAS pilot with client-facing responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with Google Suite, JIRA, Asana, and Slack products.
- Technical proficiency with UAS hardware and software systems.
- Strong communication to keep teams aligned and informed.
- Ability to maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues and optimize fleet readiness.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs as part of daily tasks.
