MQ-9 Instructor Pilot - Cherry Point, NC

Job Details

Job Description: Delaware Resource Group is searching for qualified MQ-9 instructor pilots in support of Flight Operations. Ideal candidates will be able to provide instruction, in accordance with applicable instructions to meet proficiency and qualification standards on administered written examinations and flight evaluations for preparatory courses, initial qualification (basic, instrument, mission), transition (conversion, requalification), upgrade qualification (instructor, aircraft commander, special mission, evaluator) and key staff, continuation, refresher course, etc. training as required to meet the on-time graduation and annual requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties as Instructor Pilot.
  • Performs mission planning, briefing, mission execution and debriefing.
  • Instructs UAV student pilot operators in all aspects of UAV ground and flight operations. This training includes academic (platform instruction), simulator, and in-flight instruction.
  • Complies with all governing regulations including service guidance, company procedures and Federal Aviation Administration Regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Shall be qualified Mission Command Element (MCE) and Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) aircrew
  • Prior MQ-9 pilot training, specifically:
    • United States Air Force (USAF) MQ-9 Pilot Initial Qualification Training course (IQT) OR
    • USMC MQ-9 Pilot Training Course at VMUT-2 OR
    • Industry equivalent MQ-9 Pilot Training Course (General Atomics-ASI, L3-Harris, Albers, etc.)
  • Valid Federal Aviation administration (FAA) First or Second-Class Airman Medical Certificate, or a current DD Form 2992 at the GFR's discretion, reflecting the individual is medically cleared for flight duty.
  • No less than 550 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in MQ-9 aircraft (up to 50% of that MQ-9 flight time can be conducted in simulator.
  • No less than 25 hours of MQ-9 instructor time.

  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.

  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and their surrounding environment.
