Salary:



  • $19.50 an hour with an average yearly salary of 45k-65k

  • $21.00 an hour after 500 completed hours

  • $22.50 an hour after 1000 completed hours

  • Receive an additional $2 per hour on overnight shifts

  • Quarterly bonuses after 1 year of employment

Flying Lion is a leader in its field of utilizing drones to enhance public safety through our pioneering Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs. Since our inception in Chula Vista, CA, in 2018, we have revolutionized emergency response, participating in over 10,000 service calls and are proud as a company to have the highest number of flights globally. Providing our on-demand rapid aerial assessment through our remotely operated copters, equipped with built-in high definition and infrared cameras, allows Law Enforcement and Emergency Service agencies to enhance safety in their communities. We currently service 12 agencies with 16 rooftop locations across the country. Some current Law Enforcement agencies utilizing Flying Lion include Beverly Hills PD, Irvine PD, Redondo Beach PD, Santa Monica Police PD, Brookhaven Georgia and Montgomery County Maryland. Flying Lion’s core mission is to improve first responder response times, ensure the safety of citizens and officers, and enhance situational awareness for our communities.


Job Description:


We are seeking passionate and certified sUAS Pilots to join our innovative and ever evolving team. As an RPIC, you will be integral to our Drone as First Responder programs by ensuring rapid response, equipment readiness, and the highest standards of flight safety. As we are working with sensitive information and Law Enforcement and Emergency Service agencies, pilots must be able to uphold and practice discretion.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:



  • Operate drones within FAA regulations, ensuring safe and efficient mission completion

  • Maintain visual and airspace awareness during all flights

  • Execute pre-flight checks and equipment maintenance to ensure mission readiness

  • Engage in continuous communication with the team for operational efficiency

  • Address and troubleshoot any technical issues to maintain high operational standards


Required Qualifications:



  • Current FAA Part 107 certification

  • Minimum of 10 logged flight hours (training on specific platforms provided)

  • Must possess the ability to speak and write in English

  • A professional attitude and ability to execute discretion

  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Strong interest in technology, particularly sUAS, and its application in public safety

  • Customer service experience

  • A willingness to grow within the company as Flying Lion grows
