North Highland's Emergency Management practice continues to grow. As a member of our Public Sector, Emergency Management team, you will support local governments in impacted areas following a disaster (natural or man-made). Bring your incident management and disaster response skills and all that is the emergency management professional inside you to a team that challenges you to solve big problems and mitigate suffering. We are looking for leaders, problem-solvers, and creative individuals who want to serve our clients while innovating and pushing the envelope of change to transform the discipline of emergency management.

We Are Looking For Qualified Personnel In Their Respective NIMS ICS Positions And Have Successfully Completed Task Books (FEMA NQS Task Book, National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG), Or Florida AHIMT Program) Disaster Responders. Ways of Working

  • Be willing to travel 100% of the time and be deployed for a minimum of two weeks and for as much as 30 days at a time to an impacted community working at the client’s site and direction
  • Be willing to work to a 12-hour day
  • Work at the client’s operations tempo
  • Be willing to work outside in hot environments
  • Be willing to lodge in alternative lodging scenarios like at a base-camps or other alternative lodging sites
  • Be willing to stand for long periods
  • Be physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, squatting, or sitting for prolonged period of time.

What you will need to be successful

  • The ability to stay calm and focused in a high-stress environment
  • Be solution-oritentated and flexible
  • Have an ability to authentically establish credibility, build consensus, and activate collaboration with clients and teammates
  • Be a subject matter in Emergency Management or Disaster Planning, Response, and Recovery
  • Demonstrated success in delivering expert solutions and methodologies to existing and new client accounts
  • Experience running engagements, managing teams, and driving desired business outcomes throughout delivery, as well as the ability to pinpoint gaps and omissions.
  • Creative ingenuity and a proven ability to find or design simple solutions to complex challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is a plus
  • Additional external accreditation or recognition from recognized professional bodies Conduct or participate in conferences, meetings, and workshops relating to natural hazards/all hazards planning or other associated issues
  • Be visionary and apply cutting-edge practices and thoughts to emergency management
  • Be authentically you as you engage in growing your skills every day

Requirements

  • As a condition of employment, you must pass a level 2 background check
  • Pass a drug test
