Job Overview
Volatus Aerospace is seeking a qualified and experienced Advanced Drone Pilot to support a short-term aerial tree seeding and logistics contract in Central New Brunswick.
The selected candidate will operate a
DJI FlyCart 30 heavy-lift drone to transport tree seedlings to remote forestry planting sites. This role requires strong operational discipline, adherence to Transport Canada regulations, and comfort working in remote camp-based environments.
This is a rotational field assignment operating in active forestry zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate DJI FlyCart 30 (or equivalent heavy-lift RPAS) in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and company SOPs
- Conduct safe and efficient aerial transport of tree seedlings to designated reforestation sites
- Perform pre-flight planning, risk assessments, and site hazard evaluations
- Complete required flight logs and operational documentation
- Coordinate with forestry crews and ground personnel
- Maintain operational awareness in remote and variable terrain environments
- Ensure compliance with all safety, aviation, and environmental standards
Hours of Work, Work Environment and Potential Travel
- Contract Duration: April 27 – July 10
- Rotation: 3 days on / 1 day off
- Accommodation: On-site forestry camp (meals and lodging provided)
- Field-based assignment in remote outdoor conditions
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory
- Valid Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate
- Experience operating heavy-lift drone platforms
- Valid Class G (or equivalent provincial) Driver’s License
- Experience towing trailers and safely backing them up
- Strong understanding of Canadian aviation regulations
- Ability to work in remote forestry environments
- Physically capable of working outdoors in variable weather conditions
Preferred
- Direct experience with DJI FlyCart 30
- Experience supporting forestry, environmental, or remote logistics operations
- Field-based operational or industrial site experience
