About the Role

Reporting to the Rotating Equipment Team Lead, the Autonomous Systems Deployment (ASD) Coordinator will support the broader LNG Canada team in executing digital and advanced technology initiatives.

To provide specialist support for planning and field execution of technology deployment in support of engineering, operations and maintenance teams.  These deployment activities include use of drones for various troubleshooting and support missions, as well as wireless sensorization deployment on machinery and equipment.   

The role is expected to flex and evolve as the technology deployment advances and the program continues to mature.  Future use cases of advanced technology include robotics, additional sensorization deployment as well supporting field deployment of sensors in support of artificial intelligence initiatives.

Will be part of the team to support production and maintenance teams and in support of ad hoc troubleshooting, as well as longer term program deployment.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Identify and prepare deployment plans to utilize existing technology (i.e. drones, sensors, robotics)
  • Assist in developing, maintaining and optimizing Condition Monitoring program for Rotating equipment.
  • Execute the Proactive Technical Monitoring wireless execution scope for process units in accordance with agreed deployment plans.
  • Contributing to the strategies for deployment and be forward looking in proposing new technologies.
  • Participating in and contributing to incident investigations.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Post Secondary diploma or certification in technical discipline ideally in instrumentation, Automation Controls and Maintenance, Robotics, Geomatics or equivalent years of experience will be considered.
  • 3 years’ experience in drone operations, flight planning and data collection preferably in an industrial site
  • Transport Canada Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Advanced certificate + Flight Review
  • Must Possess or ability to obtain Level 1 Complex Operations and L1C flight review certification to maintain compliance with regulations
  • Be proficient with basic land surveying procedures and practices
  • Ability to obtain site driving pass and independently travel to both on-site and offsite locations to execute work scope
  • Experience in wireless sensor configuration, installation and data collection
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level interpersonal skills. Network with the Engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) in different disciplines and understand the needs of the customer
  • Willing to learn and take efforts to continuously improve the technical as well as leadership attributes.
  • Ability to collaborate with other core business areas to provide a troubleshooting and data collection service that ensures asset integrity and longevity of plant & equipment 
  • An ability to do basic maintenance to equipment and ensure it is running in good order and well calibrated

This role requires that you:  

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)  
  • Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace).   • Know that during unplanned outages, start-up, campaign maintenance and turnaround events will require additional effort including longer hours.
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions, that include rain, snow and wind, cold and heat.
  • Ability to climb high industrial stairs on a regular basis.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 license
  • May be called in to work off hours on an urgent basis.
  • Must be comfortable to work on an industrial petro chemical site
